So easy to get caught up in social media. Looking at everyone’s seemingly perfect vacations, perfect houses, perfect kids, perfect spouses, and perfect bodies. As we all know what appears on social media isn’t a full picture of reality. Often we’re viewing a fake environment.
So if you spend your time comparing your life to what you see on social media, recognize that you’re always playing a losing hand. The deck is stacked against you. You’re trying to measure yourself up against fake and unrealistic standards.
No matter who you are or where you’re coming from, we all have ups and downs. If you’re struggling right now, recognize that you’re not alone. You have those around you that love you and that care about you – family, friends, colleagues. Reach out to them. Talk with them. Don’t bottle it up.
Self-care is so big. Don’t overlook the basics: sleep, diet, and exercise. Spend time with loved ones. Be mindful. Put down your phone and be fully present in your conversations with them. Give your mind and body the rest it needs and deserves.
Wishing you only more health and happiness – today and every day.
