Recipe to Prevent Overwhelm

As you begin another week you may feel the pressure of all that’s ahead. It’s challenging to stay organized. Things to remember. Things to do. Overwhelm sets in quickly. Here’s a simple recipe to get you back in control.

  1. First step is to capture. If you stay in your head you’re dead. Type them out on your device or pull out the pen and paper. Get all of those things to do out of your head.
  2. Now you can prioritize. Review your list and keep questioning yourself to make sure your focused on outcomes and not just ‘things to do.’ In other words, does your list include things that you care about, things that matter most, or is your list full of what other people want you to do?
  3. Last step is to execute. Simply take action. Stop waiting. Build momentum by checking some things off. There’s only so much you can do at once. Take it one week, one day, and one hour at a time.

The recipe is simple: capture, prioritize, execute. Stay disciplined. Remain focused on action. Reclaim your week, your day, your life!
