Want better results in your professional or personal life? Get to know your fears. Make the decision to use them rather than give into them.
Fear of not being enough. Fear of what others may think. Fear of judgment…
Self-defeating language. Excuse making. Frustration. Shutting down. Closing off. People pleasing. Suffering…
You are afraid. We all are. And that doesn’t make us unique. What separates people is the decision – the choice to use fear or to give into it.
First, accept the part of yourself that is fearful. Recognize for all the ‘bad’ that comes with fear it’s also given us gifts. For many of us we have incredible drive – a hunger to achieve. For others grace under pressure. Don’t just blame your fear for how it’s held you back… blame it for all the good it’s done you too.
When we see fear for what it really is we can then make the decision. The decision to use it rather than to give in to it – to be controlled by it.
Fear serves a purpose.
It’s okay to be afraid, especially if you’re trying to realize your full potential. It’s scary to do big things. It’s scary to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone. We don’t need to get rid of our fears. Instead embrace them. Acknowledge them. Use them. It’s a decision – a choice to use fear rather than to give in to it.
